We participate in the CoverClicks network – an audience-signal network that enables third parties to identify certain users and user activity for users who are already known to those third parties and who are active across the network. For signed-in users, we may share with CoverClicks a SHA-256 hashed version of your email address together with certain data associated with the pages of our Platform that you visit or interact with, such as the URL (with query parameters processed to remove direct personal identifiers), page title, meta description, and the referrer page. The basis on which we share this data depends on your location (see below).
From that shared data, CoverClicks may derive activity and intent signals which are, in turn, provided to third-party marketing partners of CoverClicks ("Buyers"), but only for users for whom such Buyers had previously and independently collected such data. We do not share your name, unhashed email address, telephone number, mailing address, resume, government identifiers, precise geolocation, financial account information, or any other sensitive personal data. Buyers do not receive raw identifiers and may not re-disclose the signals, combine them to re-identify users, or profile users with whom they have no direct consent relationship.
Legal basis, your location, and international transfers. The basis on which we share data with CoverClicks depends on where you are. If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, we share this data only with your consent, which you give by accepting marketing cookies; if you do not accept marketing cookies, we do not share your data. If you are in the United States, we share this data on an opt-out basis as permitted under applicable U.S. state privacy laws — meaning we may share unless and until you opt out. CoverClicks is located in the United States; when personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA we put in place adequate safeguards, such as the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Under certain applicable U.S. privacy laws, our participation in the CoverClicks network may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
How to opt out. You can withdraw your consent at any time by opening your cookie settings and unticking "Marketing" (or by declining marketing cookies in the cookie banner). If you are in the United States, because we may share your data by default, you can also opt out by enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, or using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control available on this page (requires JavaScript). Once you opt out by any of these methods, we stop sharing, and if the pixel was already active during your current visit it stops on your next page load.
