As a Dasher, you can make an average $12 per hour in the US or 15 CAD per hour in Canada.
With DoorDash, you receive a guaranteed amount, which you can see before accepting or declining an order. Additionally, tips are 100% yours. If one delivery fails to reach the base pay + tips, you still receive the minimum guaranteed amount. In the case that the base pay + tip is greater than the guaranteed minimum, you keep the extra amount! What you should also know is that DoorDash pays a bit extra for orders delivered from 20 minutes early to on time, and you may receive additional earnings if the suggested GPS route goes through tolls or if you do deliveries that span longer than average distances.

2. Postmates driver pay

When delivering stuff with Postmates you get rewarded for every minute and mile that you work. What do we mean by that? That you get paid for every minute you wait at the pick-up location and for every mile between the pick-up and drop-off locations. Your hourly pay will be around $12 per hour. There are no fees and you keep all of your tips, so you go home with the full amount you earn from your deliveries! You can choose to get your earnings instantly or receive them automatically once a week. Moreover, Postmates has you covered if a delivery is cancelled after you’ve reached a pick-up location: you may still receive a payout. Finally there are opportunities to earn more:

  • Deliver during peak hours: every day from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m, from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and on weekends and at the busiest locations that are indicated with dark red in the app.
  • There are Blitz pricing hours, when demand for deliveries is high and you can earn more per delivery.

As a delivery driver with Foodora you can make an average €12 per hour in Paris, 90kr per hour in Stockholm or 15 CAD per hour in Montreal. No service fees are extracted from your pay and you get to keep the whole amount of your tips. In new markets, Foodora applies minimum guaranteed pay per hour to get the ball rolling smoothly.

Delivering with Caviar you can make an average $18 per hour in Boston or $20 per hour in NYC. You get compensated for each successful delivery with a task-based fee, you get to keep eventual tips and you have opportunities for extra earnings, like:

  • Milestone Bonuses: when you meet certain criteria within an ongoing period or within one single day, you may be eligible for special bonuses.
  • Peak Day Bonus: bonuses when working during peak times.

5. Instacart shopper pay

You can expect an average $15 per hour as a shopper and groceries deliverer with Instacart in the U.S. or Canada. There is a minimum wage for an Instacart shopper at $10 and you will earn a commission based on the total of each order you manage. You usually get tipped with around an 18% of the value of the order and you get to keep that amount for yourself. Keep in mind that your pay rate will change depending on the time of day and day of the week you choose to work – for example Sundays always pay better. You can also receive a bonus if you refer a friend and a $100 bonus, if you are among the top rated 25% of shoppers in your city.
